Who is collecting?

Any personal data provided to or collected by Unilever is controlled by Unilever South Africa Pty. Ltd., the data controller. This Privacy Notice applies to personal data collected by Unilever in connection with the services and products we offer through LevelUp Site.

What personal data is being collected?

Personal data means any information that can be used to identify directly or indirectly a specific individual. Including:

• Full Name
• Email Address
• Age
• Gender
• Highest educational attainment
• Race
• Voluntary data: Information you voluntarily provide to the Site or when you contact us for any reason.

This data will only be captured via a registration form in the Take Action Module and a satisfaction survey for users who are interested to participate in said module and those that wish to provide feedback on their experience with the site. The purpose of collecting this data is to get necessary information to connect and match these interested users to the right volunteer, purpose and mentorship opportunity as well as ensure that the site is able to reach it’s intended demographics and champion inclusivity. This data will then be used internally to gauge the site’s adoption and reach, to help measure success and better shape the evolution of the site.

LevelUp Site uses cookies and similar technologies to provide our websites and online services and to help collect data. Cookies allow us, among other things, to:

• Store your preferences and settings;
• Provide interest-based advertising; and
• Analyze how our websites and online services are performing.

We also use web beacons to help deliver cookies and gather usage and performance data. Our websites may include web beacons and cookies from third-party service providers.

Who will it be shared with?

As part of the Unilever Group, a global business, Unilever South Africa Pty. Ltd. shares your personal data within the Unilever Group and with selected third parties for purposes described in this Notice. For example, we share your personal data with third-party service providers, other third-parties, as well as in case of business transfers or legal disclosure.

Unilever may transfer personal data internationally. If we do transfer personal data abroad, Unilever will make sure that it is protected with a similar level of protection as required by law in its country of origin. We

• Put in place a contract with the third-party to ensure they protect personal data as required by law;
• Transfer personal data to countries whose privacy law ensures an adequate level of protection or put in appropriate safeguards as required by law

Unilever takes the security of your personal data very seriously. We take every effort to protect your personal data from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

How long do we keep your personal data for?

We will keep your personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose it is being processed for, or for purposes that are closely related. We retain the identifiable data we collect directly for targeting purposes for as little time as possible, after which we employ measures to permanently delete it.

What are your rights?

Where we process your personal data, you have a number of rights over how the data is processed and can exercise these rights at any point.
